Introduction

We do yoga not to be better at yoga, but to be better at life

“Our relationship with yoga is what we share as teachers. This is our gift to the world, and our unique voice is what we offer, and what we share. All good trainings will teach you how to structure a class, how to safely instruct a pose and how to align the body in asana. Our course will cover all of this in an in-depth and complete way embracing and welcoming all learning styles. The benefit of an immersive training in a retreat location like ours is that you have the opportunity to go really deep; into the practice, and into yourself and to find your own unique teaching voice and what YOU have to offer the world”.

Testimonials

“I’ve just finished 3 weeks of teacher training at the Cliffs of Moher Retreat Centre and it’s safe to say, it was the best investment I ever made. And it was indeed an investment – of money, of time, of effort – but especially of energy. Michelle and Lexi brought us far beyond the course requirements of simply teaching asanas and on a deep journey into ourselves. There was a lot of soul-searching, self-reflection and healing. It was intense work, but the most powerful gift we could’ve been given. Most importantly, it all took place in a safe, completely secure environment…and a stunning one at that!

When designing the course, Michelle must’ve known what days we’d feel tired, what activities would be tough…and what reward she could offer to make every single day a wonderful experience, even when we were challenging ourselves most. From the very first day, we were taken care of – far better than we might’ve been able to take care of ourselves! – and encouraged to grow as people, as teachers, and as healers.

Nourished every day by the best food we could imagine, guided in challenging flow classes and deeply healing restorative classes, and brought out of our comfort zone with cold sea swimming from time to time, our minds and bodies thrived within this setting.

The course itself is all-encompassing, giving you all the tools and support you need to be a caring, knowledgeable, confident and safe yoga teacher. You’ll be teaching from Day 1 (but don’t worry, the way they introduce it means it isn’t scary at all!) So it’s quite practical and the theory stuff is shared in a very informal, accessible way…more like a group chat than a lecture. All of the people on the course bonded so much thanks to this arrangement and I’m leaving here with some wonderful new friends.

Michelle is a fountain of knowledge about the practice (and so much more!) and I feel so empowered now to continue my own yoga journey thanks to her guidance.

If you’re thinking of doing your training, trust me – go for this course. You’ll be supported all the way, you’ll love the lessons you’re learning each day and you’ll be as excited as I am about becoming a yoga teacher when you finish.”

“I was drawn to this place since the first time I found the website looking for a YTT. And choosing it for my YTT could not have been more right for me. It was the right place, the right people, the right time. The YTT was amazing and more than eye-opening. The Cliffs of Moher Retreat is just magical!”

“The course has been an amazing and magical experience for me. To be so immersed, to have the space held so well, to be learning, growing, healing.
I was completely overwhelmed before the teacher training, I nearly dropped out a week before. I thought I’m not good enough, not flexible enough, not spiritual enough. But being here I have learnt I am enough, and I’m actually a damn good teacher.
My inflexibility and tightness in my muscles from a life time support has taught me many of the modifications needed for different poses, and a strong focus on the integrity and safety of poses over the shapes we may see on instagram. I have so much more confidence in my practice, and have been taught the art of teaching that I never thought I would master.
The daily schedule allows for all types of learning; physical practice and experience of how it feels in the body, anatomy lectures focused on yoga poses, teaching practice from day one in small groups, to teaching a class of 12 on the final day. 4pm cake break. Amazing food at breakfast and lunch, organic and vegetarian. Tree planting for our karma yoga. Fun memory games to make learning Sanskrit more like xmas day with your family by the fire. Many dips into the Atlantic Ocean, jumping off the pier on stormy December days. Ice baths and saunas. And breathing, a lot of breathing. The reason most of us on our training found yoga, the gift we all want to share, the thing that yoga is really all about. The breath.
I will definitely back with some experience under my belt to do my 300hr advanced teacher training as soon as Michelle is offering it.
Don’t think about it too much, just breathe, and jump in.”

“This is so much more than a yoga teacher training course, Michelle takes you on a personal development journey as well, enabling you to launch into being a teacher as soon as you leave. She really models the way and share her years of experience and knowledge freely. Everything has been so well thought through, every need is catered for, creating an amazing and supportive learning environment. Great location, wonderful food and accommodation – an inspiring experience.”
